YouthLead

YouthLead

  • Aims to foster leadership development in high school students, so that they may grow and model their own faith in Christ Jesus in a productive manner. (In doing so, students may foster faith development of their peers.)
  • Encourages high school students in the Kansas District to have a voice in the planning and implementation of District youth events.

If you’re interested in joining the team, complete the application below. Please note applicants will need a sponsor. (To learn more about the role of a representative and a sponsor, please see the ” YouthLead Expectations” document below.) Applications are accepted throughout the year but are only reviewed prior to District Youth Ministry Team meetings held twice a year in January or February and August or September.

Clover Maples

Clover Maples

Church and City: Trinity Lutheran, Winfield

Grade: 11th grade

Fun fact: I play golf for my school. I also enjoy choir and musical theatre.

Fav Bible Verse: John 5:15. I like it because it shows how living in Christ and branching out to others to follow him will bring great joy in your life. It is also my confirmation verse.

Why YouthLead? I wanted to be in YouthLead because it was a way to be involved in the church as a whole instead of just my hometown church. I also wanted to be able to reach out to other people to share the good news of God.

Fun fact: I am a Sunday school teacher for my church. Also I do cross country and track for my school.

Fav Bible Verse: Romans 1:16! This verse helps me to feel empowered to share God’s word.

Why YouthLead? I am excited to be a part of this team because I see it as a wonderful opportunity to share and strengthen my faith.

We’ve been very grateful for this chance for our daughter to use her leadership skills for the benefit of students in our synod. She uses them at school and work, but through YouthLead she can make an eternal difference.
