Kansas District Life Conference
January 25, 2022 | St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Topeka
We invite you to join us for the fourth annual Kansas District Life Conference, being held January 25, 2022, at St. John’s in Topeka. The keynote presentation, “A Time to Speak,” will be presented in the morning by Rev. Dr. Jim Lamb, life advocate at Lutheran Family Service (LFS) of Iowa. Deaconess Tiffany Manor, director of LCMS Life Ministry, will speak to the group in the afternoon, after the Rally for Life in downtown Topeka.
This is a perfect opportunity to learn from experienced life advocates and be encouraged in your own efforts to be an advocate FOR LIFE.
Rev. Dr. Jim Lamb
Life Advocate, Lutheran Family Service
Presentation description: The Gospel of Jesus is the most positive and powerful FOR LIFE message in the universe! It is tailor made for issues of life and death, pain and suffering that so many people face. The Christian approach to dealing with the life issues has typically been Law—”You shall not murder.” There is a place for this. But we have another message—“Jesus is the author of life and new life, who brings forgiveness and hope.” The “For Life” message is not something tangential to the Gospel as a whole. It is part of the whole of the Gospel. It’s Time to Speak this message to those in our pews and those in our culture.
Use the form below to register for the conference. There is no charge for the event itself; boxed lunches are available for $10 each. If you’d like a boxed lunch for yourself (and others), please indicate the number on your registration form, and click the “Lunch Payment” button on this page to pay for your lunches in advance. If you’d like a lunch, register by January 19.
If you’re planning on participating in the March and Rally for Life in downtown Topeka, please also register on the LCMS website by clicking the “March Registration” button. LCMS Life Ministry will use those registration numbers to provide hats and posters for the event. (When asked about availability in the account set-up, you can check anything; it’s a required question but doesn’t pertain to marches). You can participate in the March without registering on the Synod site, but if you want to be included in the headcount for signs and hats, register before January 10.
Summary of registration deadlines: For hats and signs: January 10. For lunch, January 19. To attend with no extras: January 24.
If you have any questions about the conference, contact Rev. Matthew Durance at email@example.com, or call him at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church office, 785-747-2407.
