Theme
Plowing - Preparing Our Congregation and Community for Evangelism: Farmers know that you could simply go into a field and scatter seed and have some crop to harvest. However, if you prepare the soil, there will be a much larger crop. In the same way,
a church can be more effective in reaching people for Christ if it carefully prepares both the congregation and the community for outreach. For the church, this may mean helping members re-orient ministry to be more sensitive and welcoming to visitors, especially those
who do not know Christ. For the community, this may mean building a positive image and awareness of the congregation.
Planting - Sharing Christ with Others: This sounds so easy, but most people are uncomfortable sharing their faith. How do we make sharing Jesus with others become an automatic part of our everyday life? With basic evangelism training – helping members develop their own faith stories, learn how to use simple evangelism tools and be more intentional in looking for opportunities to share Jesus.
Evangelism Training
CrossPollination Ministries - learn about facing fear, prayer walking, canvassing neighborhoods, follow-up visits, witnessing in foreign languages and talking about Jesus with friends.
"Planting Gospel Seeds While Serving Human Needs" by Rev. Carlos Hernandez, District and Congregational Outreach, LCMS World Relief and Human Care - This mission development tool can help your congregation identify types of needs in your community most critical, unmet, or under-served and plan ministries that build closer relationships with your neighbors.
